MISSISSAUGA, Canada – December 21, 2017 – Revera is pleased that the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced 26 new Long Term Care bed licenses for Revera’s The Village Seniors Community in Hanover today.
“Today’s announcement of 26 new bed licenses, along with the 70 we already have, will allow us to build a new, modern long term care home in Hanover,” said Wendy Gilmour, Revera’s Senior Vice President, Long Term Care. “We will develop a purpose-built 96-bed home that will meet the needs of future generations of local seniors.”
Revera has worked closely with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care over the past year and a half to chart a path forward for our 33 long term care homes in need of development, with specific focus on the homes with licenses expiring in 2020, like The Village Seniors Community.
“Our government is committed to supporting Ontario residents who rely on long-term care homes for their ongoing health and personal care needs. By adding 26 new long-care beds to the redevelopment of the Village Seniors Community in Hanover, we are helping more seniors access the care they need in their community, close to family and friends," said the Honourable Dr. Eric Hoskins, Minister of Health and Long Term Care.
“Modernizing to the newest design standards will help us create the right environment to meet the increasingly complex needs of residents, many of whom are living with multiple chronic conditions, often including Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias,” added Gilmour.
