New CMO strengthens focus on quality clinical care; CMO position unique in Canadian senior living sector
MISSISSAUGA, Canada - October 3, 2017 – Revera Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Rhonda Collins to the newly-created leadership role of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) - a first for the retirement living and long term care sector in Canada.

Dr. Collins will provide advice, guidance and leadership on the social, psychological and healthcare aspects of aging for Revera’s retirement living residences and long term care homes. A trained family physician with experience in long term care, she brings passion and expertise in memory care, dementia, falls prevention and clinical quality improvement to her new role as Revera’s Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Rhonda Collins is a family physician with a certificate of added competence in Care of the Elderly from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. She has a strong focus on the care of older people and those with dementia. She has been the lead physician for the Outpatient Primary Care Memory Clinic at Shaver Hotel Dieu Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. Catharines, as well as medical director and attending physician at several long term care homes in the Niagara Region. She is Associate Clinical Professor with the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University School of Medicine, where she developed and leads a Care of the Elderly rotation for family medicine residents. She also consults on neuropsychiatric behaviours of dementia in long term care with the Niagara Seniors Mental Health Outreach program.
