Thomas Wellner has extensive global experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals and health care services in public and private businesses.
 
Mr. Wellner joined Revera in 2014. He was attracted by the chance to work in what he calls the “people-caring for people business”, and sees opportunities for innovation in serving seniors and others. He says one of his prime responsibilities is ensuring Revera provides excellent experiences through quality, service and care.
 
Previously, Mr. Wellner was co-CEO of LifeLabs, President and CEO of CML HealthCare, and President and CEO of Therapure Biopharma. He began his career at global pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly & Company where he had a variety of global operational & strategic leadership roles. Mr. Wellner holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, recently completed his ICD Directors Education Program at the Rotman School of business and has completed executive education through Harvard Business School. Mr. Wellner sits on the Boards of a number of public and private companies.

After a secondment to a home care company, Trish Barbato was hooked on health care. She has deep experience in private, public and non-profit sectors of the health system, and served as Senior Vice President of Revera Home Health from 2010 to 2015. In her current role she provides strategic leadership for Revera in the area of innovation, one of the company’s core strategic priorities. Before joining Revera in 2010, Ms. Barbato was President and CEO of COTA Health (mental health and rehabilitation services). She was Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer of Providence Healthcare, and Managing Director of Bayshore Healthcare. Ms. Barbato defines success as exceeding client expectations, keeping employees deeply engaged and growing operations. She’s a Chartered Accountant and Certified General Accountant, and holds an Economics degree from the University of Waterloo.

Before joining Revera in 2008, Cathie Brow held managerial and executive positions in the health care and hospitality sectors. That included leadership roles with Humber River Hospital in Toronto, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
 
Ms. Brow’s passion is helping to create respectful and rewarding workplaces, where people can reach their potential, provide great service, and meet their goals and those of the company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Economics from York University, a Masters of Industrial Relations from University of Toronto, and a Certificate in Best Practices in Leadership from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Cerrone joined Revera in 1998. As a corporate/commercial lawyer, he has extensive experience in the health care sector, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He was previously the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Retirement Residences Real Estate Investment Trust. At Revera, he serves as a trusted advisor with respect to all legal matters.
 
After pursuing a double major in English and Philosophy at the University of Toronto, Mr. Cerrone graduated with his Juris Doctor (JD/LLB) from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1985 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1987. Mr. Cerrone graduated with a Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, in 2014.

Stephen Foster is Chief Operating Officer for Revera and brings more than 30 years of experience in hospitality to the organization. Before joining in 2013 as Senior Vice President, Retirement Living, he was Senior Vice President with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and held senior leadership positions with ITT Sheraton and Cara Operations. Mr. Foster draws on that background to advance hospitality and service in the retirement and care sector. He has a personal understanding of what matters to residents and their families; his own mother lived at a Revera retirement residence. Mr. Foster has received honorary degrees from Ryerson University and George Brown College, and earned the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his leadership in hospitality and tourism.

Wendy Gilmour’s experience in leading private and public sector organizations has given her deep insights into the health care system, and fostered her passion for person-centred care. Her previous roles include Senior Vice President of Operations at CML Healthcare, and Vice President of Clinical Support Services at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
 
Ms. Gilmour, who holds an MBA from the University of Alberta, suggests that in her area conventional measures aren’t enough. You can’t measure compassion, she says. In leading Revera’s Long Term Care team, Ms. Gilmour focuses on providing a happy, safe and supportive environment for some 10,000 residents and staff across the country.

Jim Hardy provides strategic oversight of Revera's investments and partnerships, and leadership to Revera’s finance teams. He helps ensure that change and growth are managed to make economic sense, while balancing the needs of Revera’s stakeholders, partners, residents, clients, and employees.
 
Mr. Hardy held senior finance positions at Public Mobile, Sprint Canada, National Bank Financial and TD Securities/TD Bank. He has served on several corporate and charitable boards. Mr. Hardy holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, and completed the Institute of Corporate Directors program at the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.

Donna Kelsey came to Revera with extensive experience in health care and leadership positions. She is driven to provide exceptional care and improve satisfaction and clinical outcomes. Ms. Kelsey considers it a privilege to strive for that and to work with a team of passionate and engaged employees.
 
Before joining Revera in 2012, she was Executive Vice President of Operations for Kindred Healthcare. She also served in the U.S. Naval Reserve for 26 years, achieving the rank of Captain and earning the Navy Achievement Medal, Naval Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. Ms. Kelsey holds a BA in Biology from Colgate University and a Master’s in Community Health from Old Dominion University.

Daryl Kish began his career as a Chartered Accountant, then transitioned into Asset Management in the hotel industry. Prior to joining Revera in 2008, Mr. Kish worked for companies including Westmont Hospitality Management, Royco Hotels and Resorts, Crown Life Insurance and Carma/Nuwest Developments. Mr. Kish believes that in many ways hospitality is similar to Revera’s work, in that the people we serve are at the centre of everything we do. He brings a financial and hospitality perspective to his role at Revera. Mr. Kish is responsible for strategic planning and coordination of the real estate/investment management function.

Ms. Ko has more than 20 years’ experience in various sectors including pharmaceuticals, global life sciences and healthcare. She has helped organizations drive strong performance by unleashing the power of marketing and communications to engage employees and customers, creating award-winning programs to enhance corporate reputation and brand preference, and led the development of community involvement and stakeholder engagement strategies. She has managed complex issues and led merger, acquisition, divestiture, restructuring and shareholder communications. Ms. Ko received her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and History and a Masters of Arts in Journalism from Western University. She also holds a Queen’s University Certificate in Organization Development.

Nina Thomsen oversees the information technology functions for Revera. She has more than 25 years of leadership experience in sourcing and implementing IT-based solutions.
 
Ms. Thomsen focuses on achieving value and differentiation through the use of systems and technology in the frontline delivery of care and other services to our residents and clients as well as in the efficient and effective running of the back office. Before joining Revera in 2010, she worked in the retail industry and as a consultant. Her previous roles include Vice President, IT Project Delivery for Loblaw Companies Limited, and Principal at Capgemini Canada. Ms. Thomsen holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics from University of Waterloo.
