Celebrating Women’s Wisdom
When my mother turned 92, her life changed; turns out, so did mine.
A tenacious go-getter, she decided to move to a Revera retirement
community called Donway Place, in Toronto, Ont.
She flourished. And I got to know how impactful a retirement
community can be. A few months later, when I learned of an
employment opportunity at Revera, I jumped at the chance.
So, you see, my mother influenced every part of my life. I cherish
each moment of joy, and every life lesson, she gave me.
The wisdom of women is all around us. In this issue, you’ll learn about
former Mayor of Mississauga, Ont., Hazel McCallion, whose relentless
determination helped build Canada’s sixth-largest city. You’ll also

The Honourable Hazel McCallion, former 12-time Mayor of
Mississauga, shares her wisdom and life lessons with Revera
leaders at their annual conference, dedicated to excellent
customer service. The 94-year-old maintains a busy schedule;
most recently, she was appointed special advisor to the
University of Toronto’s Mississauga campus.
