Therapy and Rehabilitation

  1. Occupational therapy
Our occupational therapists work with individuals with a wide range of developmental, physical, neurological and psychiatric disorders. We can help individuals to acquire or re-acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to handle daily tasks and routines so that they can live an active and fulfilling lifestyle. Some examples of treatment programs we provide include teaching life skills; energy conservation techniques; prescribing helpful devices for everyday living activities; home safety assessments; worksite assessments and ergonomics; and prescribing mobility devices like wheelchairs and scooters.
  2. Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapists develop personalized treatment programs to increase range of motion, strengthen muscles, and improve balance and co-ordination. We work with clients with a wide range of physical impairments and disabilities, from the impact of a stroke, to knee or hip replacements, to fractures. Whatever your need, we will work with you to help improve physical performance and function, restore or enhance activity, prevent and manage pain, and promote ongoing fitness and health. We can also provide home safety assessments and recommend equipment or alterations that help you to stay safe at home.
  3. Speech language pathology
If you have been affected by surgery, stroke or another condition that’s impacted your ability to communicate effectively or swallow safely and efficiently, we can help. Our speech language pathologists have expertise in assessing, treating, counseling, educating and managing communication and swallowing disorders. We will assess your needs and design a customized treatment plan to help you improve and restore these functions.
  4. Social work
As people’s health and care needs evolve, all sorts of issues can arise – some physical, but also social and emotional. Revera’s social workers offer individual and family teaching, counseling, links to community resources, assistance with long-term care placements, support in evaluating and accessing services, and other services to support well-being.
  5. Nutrition and diet
The right food choices help you to eat, live and age well. Revera’s dietitians have the in-depth knowledge to assess your nutritional health status, develop meal plans, and help you to prevent or manage health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and weight problems. Our dietitians translate the science of human nutrition into language you can understand – and into healthy food choices that you can live with.
